Sing the Music of HealingA new CD for the Movement for the Abolition of WarSinging the music of healing, an album of peace songs sponsored by the Movement for the Abolition of War, is a wonderful lift for the spirits. The songs are performed by The Mad Hatters Ceilidh Extravaganza from Oxfordshire and guests including Sue Gilmurray and Tony Kempster, well-known to many people in the peace movement. The songs have been carefully chosen to cover different aspects of war and peace. They are by today's songwriters including Eric Bogle (No man's land), Leon Rosselson (Where's the enemy), Tommy Sands (Music of healing) and Fred Small (Cranes over Hiroshima). There are also two new ones by Sue Gilmurray (The tide turns and Higher form of war). The songs are performed in various styles: jazz, country, music hall and folk. The words of the songs provide an intelligent assessment of the nature of modern war and a challenge to it, making the album a excellent resource for use in education in schools and at conferences and meetings. MAW and the Mad Hatters are also planning a number of concerts to promote the album, so keep an eye out for notices of these on our events page. Please buy the CD yourself and recommend it to others if you enjoy it - which we are sure you will. Copies are available either from MAW, 11 Venetia Road, London N4 1EJ. The cost £12 each or £8 each for bulk orders of 5 or more (including p&p).
